BeenVerified is a background check site that allows you to search for people, phones, emails, or properties.
Our main concern was that the user experience felt disconnected. The users would see an ad in one style, the site in another, and the product in another. We decided to push for consistency and connect the site more to the product. I made many design explorations that would resonate with our users, tried various colors, made polls about it, and ended up going with white, which most people associate with people's searches. The result was a more informative landing page with a quick peek of the information you would get when you ran a report.
Leading the team of two other designers, we took off and developed a visual language that is easy and versatile. Whether it is a phone, email, or property search, we connected through icons, colors, and type treatments. We created brand guidelines and component libraries so all designers could easily share assets, and the final live versions looked the same.
